Mark, Pedal Across Lower Michigan (PALM) will be spending the night at Manchester High School on Wed. 6/26/13. There will be about 750 riders there and we'd be interested in having The Raisin Pickers provide our entertainment for the evening. We'd probably be looking for one set starting at about 7:45. Are you guys available and what is would your fee be?

Hey Raisin Pickers,
Long time, no see. I was in the graduating class with Natalie. I'm living in the Rocky Mountains these days and stumbled across one of my Raisin Picker CDS (driving through Glenwood Canyon past all of these waterfalls... PERFECT)... And was suddenly taken back to my days in Manchester. Just wanted to thank you for that. I just purchased new electric ukulele and I'm going to search for the chords to "I'm Helpless." I couldn't ever compare to Carol, though. Well, that's all guys. Just wanted you to know that your CDS will be staying with me for a good long while. Makes me miss home!
Hugs,
Marie Amthor

Singing in the Minnesota Chorale. Please tell Carol that when I auditioned for this group three years ago, the director told me she was sure I had grown up playing a string instrument because of how I corrected my pitch mid-note. Thanks. :)

Wow. Glad to see you two still love your music! I was a student of both of you almost 30 years ago, Mark at St. Alexis and Carol taught me violin. I still have music in my life, singing in the Minnesota

My name is Shannon Riley and I am contacting you on behalf of the Music Festival Committee and the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. On August 14, 2009, my niece passed away by suicide. She was just 21. Two days after her loss, our community experienced another loss, an 8th grader, who suffered from Alopecia Disease. While these losses are detrimental in and of themselves; together, it was devastating for our small, yet very close knit community.
So, we decided as a family and a community to do something about it. In September of 2010, over Labor Day weekend, we put on our first music festivalsin memory of Jamie and all those lost to suicide! Our goal was to raise $50,000 to help the foundation get a “more than SADD” program out to as many colleges and high schools in Wisconsin, as possible. We are also working on a webinar to further train professionals in these institutions about the CD and issues surrounding depression and suicide. With the help of many and some awesome musicians, we were able to raise $67,000 and have chosen to thus make it an annual event.
In 2011, we raised another $60,000 for the foundation and we continue to promote programs in the schools and the communities that education all on suicide and depression. When we started in 2010, 1 person every 16 minutes took their life, today it is 1 every 14. Please help!
On Sunday, September 2, 2012, 11-6 at the New Munster Ball Park in New Munster, WI, we will be hosting the “3rd Annual Labor of Love Day Music Festival”, to benefit Suicide Prevention and I would like to formally invite you to be a part of our entertainment for the day! If this is something that you think you would like to be a part of and you are available, please contact me at your earliest convenience with prices and booking information.
The sooner we book our bands, the sooner we can print up posters and tickets and get the word out about our event. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to e-mail me uirishone@hotmail.com or call me at 907-299-7548.
I look forward to hearing from you in the near future.
Peace,
Shannon Riley

I saw David perform years ago at a Paint Creek Folklore Society Tin Whistle Concert and have his Sycanmore CD..
I've also have your Drivin' CD. What great music!
I recently joined The Grasskickers as mandolin player and was given their Kickin' Grass & Takin' Names CD., which our leader Jeff Mosteller and David produced. After listening to it, I told Jeff that I was nowhere as good as their mando player. He said that wasn't our mando player, it was David. No wonder it sounded so good!

Diane Stevens, a fiddler from Brooklyn, mentionned that I might be able to get mandolin lessons. If so, please let me know.

"Palm Trees" is listed as a 1996 release. KDVS Radio in Davis, California received it in 1995 and it lists a copyright of 1994. Why the disconnect?
I played you this morning in honor of the throng of little girls in a dance competition upstairs from our studios. "Six Lessons From Madame LaZonga" was perfect!

Hi Mark,
You had asked me about video transfer when I was out to your place over Christmas break. Picture This Jackson does this kind of work. Their phone number is 782-9466. Ask for Kyle. They are located at 316 N. Wisner in Jackson. www.picturethisjackson.com is their site. Hope this helps.

This supplements the previous (just-sent) message. Apologies if I failed to mention banjo as one of the instruments we're interested in, since we definitely wish to include banjo instrumentals on these tunes in our project, too. -- J. S. Freeman, joyacademy8@yahoo.com

I'm involved in producing "contemporary country" sound recordings in Ann Arbor Michigan & Nashville TN, which blend modern "country-pop-rock" sounds with traditional country (etc.) sounds, and we will be needing (in Michigan) to hire musicians with bluegrass, roots-music, old time, Americana, blues, gospel, etc. backgrounds, for an ongoing recording project spanning many months. We're looking for skilled instrumentalists (Fiddle, Mandolin, Acoustic Upright Bass, Dobro, Lap Steel, Pedal Steel, Etc.) Also we may want special sounds on some tracks, such as washboard, tapped-on bottles, & other "jug band" kind of stuff. Furthermore we're interested in harmony vocals by David Mosher. We would like to know the hourly rates each musician charges for studio work (for our Phase 2 Recording, in Ann Arbor, at Big Sky.) Also would like to know the specific contact information for David Mosher. Additionally, would like to know whether your musicians are members of the A F of M (Ann Arbor, or other Michigan local chapter.) By the way, Phase 3 Recording will be in Nashville TN, with session players hired from the Nashville local A F of M. Should a Michigan musician prefer to record in a Nashville TN Studio, this can be arranged if they are A F of M members (but we would not be able to pay for your transportation to Nashville, or accomodations there.) This project is a long-range project. Some song tracks will need musicians to record this year (2010), and others will have musicians being recorded from 2011-2012 (& possibly into 2013.) We will appreciate your detailed information (as requested above) in a reply to
J. S. Freeman (production assistant) at : joyacademy8@yahoo.com ; thank you very much.
Today's Date : September 16, 2010.
